Ball raced gooseneck/compression strut unit for use with 14 mm round mast tube and suitable for M, 10R or similar size boats where the gooseneck unit is sunk into the deck.

The body and boom end of this gooseneck unit are injection moulded and enable simpler bearings and other details to be used. Designed to fit 14 mm carbon tube and to rotate concentrically around the mast axis this item is ideal for use on the SAILSetc Marblehead and Ten Rater. Use item 012C for flat decked boats.

The boom is a simple piece of 14 mm carbon tube requiring no special bonding to fit the gooseneck unit. If necessary to prevent the boom from rotating under load it can be locked in place using a small self-tapping screw.

Gooseneck is the English language term for the attachment between boom and mast. Other words used are boom pivot and boom swivel.

Kicking strap is the English language term used for the adjustable connection between the lower end of the gooseneck and the boom. It is also known as a vang.
